~Hands In Vegetation~

OK... This blog is semi-abandoned. hahaha. Dam long since i blogged. Facebook seems to be taking over alot of "updating" especially with photo uploads. but anyhow, this seems too long to put into facebook.

Just woke up from a really weird dream...

I was trapped on top of a building(like the roof of some skyscraper) with some other people. Its sort of like a hostage situation cause the person with the key just didn wanna let us out(or rather, down) and there was media coverage and everything but for some reason we just couldn get off the building. Oh and it was raining all the time.

What kept us alive, surprisingly was not food parcels or water rations, but notes of encouragement from the public, which was sent up as pieces of paper(which floated upwards as if there were in some giant heating vent). Because of the constant rain, the paper would always end up crumply and a lil soggy when we got to it, but the contents were always heart warming. And these pieces of paper would come at intervals. Like someone collected all the notes and sent them up in batches. I remember myself saying out: "well thats the last of them. Its like nightsnack in outfield, you dont get nightsnack twice in the same night!"

This whole thing kinda played out like a movie as well because after all the drama and stuff there was like an ending song or some sorts. Just kept playing. And the lyrics were simple.

"Now you've got your hands in vegetation, hands in vegetation now."

I have no idea what that means but the tune and lyrics are stuck in my head now. Maybe i should make it into a song? haha.

Also on another note.( It might be related )

I went for a canon user gathering the other night. Organized by someone from clubsnap. It was nice to be in a huge crowd of canon users and just discuss photography in general. Best part was the studio boss brought out lenses for us to play with. =D now im poisoned by what they call the BBB virus. lol.

There was this part where they were showing the video capabilities of the 5D Mark II and it was actually a wedding procession (the "jie mei" block doors and play weird games thing". When they came to the part where the bride and groom offered tea to their parents, I sorta, teared.

So thats why i say it might be linked to that weird dream. haha. But the weird dream had other parts la. I was studying in a tertiary institute much like now and just across a small road was a secondary/jc kind of school where rules were enforced about being late. And the discipline master from that school like kicked the late comers out of the school and subsequently everyone else. So, having no where to go the students from that secondary school ran over to my school, but they got kicked out by the authority figure as well(dont ask me why they didn go have breakfast or something, they just didn). So people kept shuffling between these 2 schools and crossing this small road. Then a vehicle came into the picture and I was told the DM of the sec sch collaborated with the "DM" of my school to use create that scenario so that the vehicle would give the students a good scare and teach them a lesson in road safety.

Yea, actually theres another 1 or 2 more ( Yea, I KNOW. all within the same night) but i think i shall stop here for today. =)

~Update~

I know i haven really been updating and i've left a super emo entry hanging at the front page for very long. Its not that i've been emo all this while, it sorta got better after i blogged it all down. Just that recently getting busier and also im very lazy to update my blog. hehe

Jap lessons feel even more daunting this year. So far i've only had 2 lessons and I already have alot things i dont understand especially since i've forgotten alot of things i'm suppose to already know. Was just kinda hoping that as long as i continue i'll continue learning cos if i stop going altogether then my proficiency in jap will only deteriorate. at least thats my theory. Hai... but going for lessons by myself quite boring and no one to copy notes from if i absent or anything.

Hopefully this yr my teacher will not keep changing. haha

~OMG~

I havent really talked to anyone about this before but during this period of break, when work is all done and finished, I find myself thinking bout Mom every single day. Basically whenever I'm alone thoughts of her will just creep into my head.

This might be kinda creepy but in the past i've actually dreamt of my Mom dying and my grandmother dying. I guess thats just my mind trying to prep itself for the worst case scenario. But all I had to do was wake up from the dream and everything would be alright. Now its just the reverse, I see my mom in my dreams all the time and I wake up to the nightmare that is reality.

I dont know if i've mentioned this before but I've always seen my Mom as the pillar of my life. Like no matter what happened, I could always tell myself: "hey you've still got a wonderful mom and a wonderful family, you're so lucky." Now I can't do that anymore and its just so tiring standing by myself with no pillar to lean on.

When I'm with friends and when I'm doing stuff its fine, I dont get to think too much but when I'm alone my mind just cycles through the same memories over and over again. Imangine what a Harry Potter fan would do when the whole H.P movie series end. Just keep watching the same titles over and over again, cos thats all he's got left.

And theres ALWAYS the icing on the cake.

Just heard from my sis, dad told her just now that he's found a girlfriend.

~UPDATE UPDATE~

yes i do realise i have not updated for a very long time. I think i've changed to becoming more active on facebook... not that I was very active in blogging earlier on but you get the idea.

Hmmm. One sem ended, and i've alot of polishing up work to do. Still, most of my time the last few days have been spent preoccupied with games. sigh... And i have yet to start my running routine up again... lol.

I was suppose to have some youth olympic game internship for this hols but after we went for the interview we realise that alot of the things they require we have not learn yet/ will not learn. So in the end we just told them we were not suitable for the job. (but that didn stop the thing from dragging back and forth... haha. cos we were all trying to reach a compromise so that we can actually be of some help but I guess the main factors were still missing so it was a no go)

Other than that. Oh yarrr i've been to kuala lumpur. Didn blog bout that. hahaha. Well it was basically similar to singapore in terms of shopping options. And no, the stuff there were not necessarily cheaper. The train system was kinda like toyko though... In the sense that they had many different operators running different lines, and so if you wanted to say switch from one to another you had to get out of the current and get into the other one. unlike SG's MRT system which is more seamless. Im not praising the MRT system here or anything but just to put things into perspective.

Oh but the malls I must say are much bigger than SG. There was this particular mall which had sort of a left and right wing and each wing was 10 stories high. so thats 2 x 10 levels of shopping. To top it off theres an amusement park built right into the mall itself. so you can imagine the scale. If you cant then wait for me to upload pictures... prolly on facebook. hahaha. 2 x 10 levels of shopping sounds really impressive but actually the shops start to thin out after like the 5th or 6th level and you just get empty levels higher up. Then suddenly on the tenth level is the food court. -_- whats this price targeting ah? only the price sensitive customers will find out about the hidden foodcourt and actually bother to go 9 levels higher to get cheaper food.

Had alot of people wishing me happy birthday this year. ALOT more people compared to previous years, even people who i haven seen in years or people who actually i dont really know who they are =x but heh. Thanks guys. =)

~Back From Japan~

HEEHEE. Actually i was back from japan since monday. WOW. What a trip! To think last week this time I was eating ramen at a stall outside tokyo metro in shinjuku. haha.

I miss japan already. lol. I guess its just that we just didn stay long enough. Didn manage to visit all the places i wanted to visit like harajuku, shibuya and akihabara. BUT i did manage to go to Ochinomizu, the famed guitar street and OH MY GOD. Ochanomizu has guitars is the biggest understatement of the year. The amount of guitars they pack into a single shop and the amount of guitar shops they pack into that single street was like a direct reflection of the amount of people packed in tokyo.

Also, it was actually great to finally be able to know for sure what i have been learning for 2 years is actually applicable in real life? haha. Although my jap was still very limited but i think it managed to help out in a few situations... The words I found myself using the most however, were "ninhongo wa youku dekinai" Haha.

Oh and although i was supposed to be the tourist there, at least once everyday some jap couple/family will ask me to help them take photo. "Shyashin o totte kuremasu ka?" and i always forgot to say doo itashimashite after they thank me =x

JAPAN HAS ALMOST NO RUBBISH BINS! We had to get used to carrying our rubbish with us as we walked around. Also, we have to clear up our trays after meals. Even at Macs. YES i went to try the macs there. Haha. It was pretty different, and you had to seperate the rubbish to the extent of cup, drink, ice, cap, straw etc...

Of all the meals i ate there, most of them were from convenience stores. But the food they have in their convenience stores... WOW. Can taste better than some of the jap food stalls/ restaurants in singapore. Pictures after i end this semester. =) But of all the meals i ate there, the best meal i must say was from this small little neighborhood store. I had a huge plate of beef curry rice and it was cooked so well, i missed the curry the moment i stepped out of the shop. haha.

ok. maybe i'll stop here today. just a small update. TONNES of submission by next week cos semester ending soon. Im happy but stressed out. omg.

~ Japan... ~

Hmmmm. Im going to japan. wahahaha! Its a self-funded trip to see their design week organised by one of my lecturers. Note the term "self-funded". No subsidy, cant even use edusave! haha. return tickets plus accomodation abot 1k+ abit then food will depend on what i eat there. Also, although we're not really there for the design week. More like for the design-weekend. Cos we're flying off on a thursday night and coming back to sg on monday night/tuesday morning. And classes resume on tuesday. The 9.30 - 9.30 kinda class. WOW. but still, JAPAN! YAY. Hmmmm dont think i'll be able to buy a guitar from japan for this time. Schedule should be quite packed. Sad, really one of the things I want to do on my list. But i guess there will be other chances. I hope i'll at least be able to ask wheres the toilet when im there...

Just got back my camera from ben. Lent it to him last week. But passed to his fren instead cos he wasn booked out yet. Received the HP details from ben so that it'll be easier to contact his fren. "Sebas 912345678" Initially i thought i was gonna meet some indian/malay guy. Sebas... how do you even pronounce that. "see-baz"? "sae-bez"? Weird name la. Then it struck me. It was short for Sebastian.

Keep dreaming bout my mom nowadays. Like every few days will dream bout her that kind. That day my neighbor asked(in dailect) if i dreamt of her and i told her yea 3-4 times. and she said very "ling" haha. Last night's dream was quite nice, well everytime i dream of mom its nice la. haha. Last night she was in a very graceful light blue dress and she was dancing(ok she never danced. at least not when i was around) and she was very slim and had this beautiful aura around her but can still see that its mom. lol.

Still quite excited bout the jap trip. =D

Hmmmm. I just feel that some things have been over complicated. I should always keep things simple. In life, in design. Adding more lines to a mistake only makes it worse. Best is to start on a fresh sheet of paper, and toss away all that crap and bull. So thats what im gonna do.

~1 Week~

Wow. One week passed by so quickly. No more holiday! haha. The past week was actually a project week where we REALLY didn need to go to school. How nice was that. Never mind that hari raya overlapped and we were kinda shortchanged(I dont have lessons on mondays so i wuda been shortchanged anyway. YEA THATS RIGHT. NO LESSONS ON MONDAYS. AND FRIDAYS), it was still a good week of aimless fun and not really doing anything work related. haha.

Arkham asylum took up my last sunday and monday. Got my laptop on tuesday. Subsequently got a table for my room from ikea(where else) on wednesday.

So now my room is like this. Just shifted my guitar in from the living room. But kinda takes up alot of space wondering if i should shift it back... haha.
So now my room setup is quite nice... As you can see, when i operate my laptop my upper torso is supported by my orange beanbag which i got ages ago(finally its starting to pay off). Only disadvantage is that its really easy to fall asleep in that cozy little corner. So i think i might still do most of my work in school. Which is the reason why i got a laptop in the first place.

Decided not to install games on my laptop. I dont want to bring my games to school. Then i wont be able to work even at that place. Quite happy with my new laptop. Has this face recognition login thingy so when i look at the log in screen for windows the webcam looks at me and logs in for me. Quite cool. Until you get to a new place with different light conditions. Then i've gotta take some mugshots in that lighting condition so that the laptop will be able to recognize me.(of course theres the old school method of just typing) Other than that if im back facing some strong light then my whole profile is black, then it cant recognize me as well. Which is a pretty common situation seeing as how my room is setup...

Going to school to finish up some work tml. Prolly take the whole day. Best to wake up earlier...

Nick is really hardcore at getting shows. He updates us on his progress via facebook like cable tv catalog so you know what movies are up and coming. Oh, games as well. Kudos to him. Really happy for him to have won that 47inch LG HD tv from that need for speed competition during the games convention asia. Seems like he had a history of winning these things back when he was in HK. Good shit.

Dats abt it now. Update again next time. wahaha.

~Update~

Hmmm... I suppose i should update abit. Last weekend was the first weekend where i resumed my "Normal" life. Erhh... nice to see the guys again in the kind of environment im familiar with... haha.

Work is still manageable but we're kinda being forced to participate in this design competition. haha. But if win its a trip to japan to see their design week. and an internship as well. wow. sounds so tempting right. haha

Realised the other day that i missed the deadline for application for JLPT. Hai... Just put the matter at the back of my head and after "things" settled, suddenly realise im too late. Haha. Kinda feels like im always too late for things. ~_~ anyway aso dunoe what level to apply for. Failed JLPT4 last year, this year dunoe still wanna go for 3. guess i wont have to make the choice now.

Thats about it for now. heh.

~ Admin Matters ~

The cremation was today. Thanks to all those who came to my mother's wake. I really appreciate the support you guys are giving me. I'll be fine and im gonna live my life well.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many admin matters to settle suddenly. Are we keeping the car? Right now only dad drives and he doesn drive to work. My sis is gonna take her test soon but before she passes dad is the only one who drives. But if we sell the car then my sis would pretty much have learnt driving for nothing.

Then we gotta decide when we gonna get our maid to leave. With my dad's income we cant keep her employed under us for long. It almost takes up 1/3 of my dad's monthly income to employ her. But she took such good care of my mother while she was alive, feel kind of bad that we make her change environment and all right after my mom's death. Feels very 过河拆桥 to me.

Rah then have to settle all the bank related stuff from mom's side. Includes phone lines...

Hai... very tiring.

Mom is now very much like a child. She cant talk to us anymore just makes sounds that we dont understand. The simple act of breathing, for her has become a chore. Its like the only "chore" she can cope with right now. Its so painful to breathe so hard that she moans in pain when the morphine is not enough. Those are the only sounds I get to hear from her.

Its really heartbreaking to see her like this. My sister is stronger than me. I know shes bleeding inside as well but shes still taking care of Mom to the best of her ability. I'm trying my best as well but I cant hold it in as long as my sis.

It'll prolly happen in the next few days.

Everything just keeps reminding me of her right now. rawr.

~Things You Wont Know How To Answer~

One morning couple of weeks ago before i school started. I was at my mom's bed and she asked me:
"Boy, 为什么做了这么多,到最后还是没有用?"

how do you answer something like that?

Just now according to my sis, mom woke up for awhile(cos they stopped her morphine to give the antibiotic). And she kept asking questions like: where am i? why am i here? Faster pay them the money and go. like shes oblivious to her own condition.

how do you answer these kind of question?

wah. just got back from hospital. mom developed pneumonia and fever within 1 day from coming home. the oxygen concentrator sucks man. I was really really scared just now. At least her condition is stabilized compared to just now. arg.

~ Memories? ~

Brought mom home back yesterday. We're trying to let her stay at home for as long as possible... Shes already on oxygen concentrator and all and shes very weak. In fact, I think she'll be going to the hospice in the next few days. Cos we're kinda worried about the fact that we have no medical knowledge to handle the medical complications that may occur. And according to my sis, mom is obviously weakening by the day. =\

Ironic part was that yesterday was dad's birthday. Still celebrated abit with some cake but the mood was just very bad. Must have been quite bad for him. Guess it kinda feels like my 21st bday last year for me, when my grandfather passed away.

Kept thinking alot these past few days. About how my Mom worked so hard to bring my sister and I up. Just when its almost time for us to take care of her instead, she has to leave. And leave in such a painful way. There still so many things that she must want to do and so many things that I wanna give to her. My first pay-check, my gf/wife?, my first child? but its just not gonna happen anymore.

Maybe all of this wont matter in a few years time. After its just 3 years from 2012 right? Maybe i'll see her in 3 years time. Haha.

I really dread the day when Mom turns to Memories...

~ Cake Anyone? ~

Hah. Interesting title? Lemme explain. Ever since secondary school, i've been learning and coming into contact with this thing called functional writing. Back then i thought it was just another useless section of the English subject that required only storage and regurgitation.

As the days went by I slowly found myself in more and more situations where the drafting of a formal letter was required. Like when I was doing my Admin jobs and had to send out emails to boss(es) and external people, and when Wei Bin kept asking me to help him out with replying to his customers from his family's bus business.

But of all the Formal Letters I had to write so far, the one I just wrote takes the cake. (and i imagine that it will keep the cake for a long time). I just drafted my Mom's will(or at least the part which concerns an insurance policy payout). Right? Takes the cake right? Its just one of those things you would never see yourself doing in a million years. LIFE is like drama.

~Rah.~

Today was another black black day. Mom got sent to the hospital early in the morning via ambulance cos she had difficulty in breathing. Dad went over with the ambulance and we went over awhile later.

When we reach the hospital, the doc asked if we knew her cancer had spread to other regions like the lungs. We were all "WTF?!" Past few days her leg swelling actually subsided quite abit. I thought it was a good sign... But it was just like with grandma that time... Eventually cancer spreads to many different parts of the body and you know thats very very close to the end already... I really dont know if I should be telling her... Shes still very much concious and alert. Even at this point, shes still asking me to bring coffee powder for my aunt at the family gathering and what not. Still thinking bout giving this to this person, passing that to that person. Hai...

So yea today, quite a fucked up day. Basically from my past experience with my grandma's case, i know i dont have much time left with my mom. Chances are high that she wont be coming back home from this hospital trip already. And, I just love her so much, i cant bear to see her go. Really feel like just throwing everything aside. What can be more important than my mother. RAH.

So to you guys reading this, REALLY. Treasure your loved ones and every moment you have to spend with them. Things really start to suck when you enter the final countdown.

~SCHOOL~

oh yea school starting tml. Hai... Im so gonna miss the holidays. haha. But then again im looking forward to the stuff that i'll do in school. Hopefully can see some friends back from my foundation class. hmmm. Working during hols really makes time fly. 2 months just came and went like that. RAH and i still have things that i "planned" to do during my hols that are not done. hahaha. dammit.

Im having a four day work week kinda timetable again. This time my free day is on monday. But tuesdays are gonna be killer... 9.30 till 8.30 with a super early ½hr break and a one hour break at 5. Warrows... cant imagine how much i'll hate my tuesdays. rest of the week generally ends around 5... my earliest day is wednesday, which ends at 3.30 Dont understand my timetable for friday though. Basically it starts at 9.30 and ends at 5.30 and its one continuous chunk. No pockets in between.

~I AM BACK~

waha. ok actually i came back friday evening. But i wasn exactly free of ICT yet. Had to go for some mobilisation on sat.

ICT was NOT what i expected it to be. I thought at least for the first ICT they will just leave us alone in the bunks to erhhh gel and build bonds with one another. hahaha.
Turns out we've to go outfield for training right from the start of the 10 year cycle.

Although it wasn all chalet and resort, it was still great to see all the familiar faces. Faces that were "shagged" and tired when my own was "shagged" and tired during my 2 yrs in National Slavery.

Some of my friends were already working in the different sectors. Most of us are still studying. Kinda cool to hear from all those who are working and find out the details about certain things you never knew.

Quite funny also, cos i saw my junior from GESS NCC there. He was an officer who just got posted to the side that trains reservist ppl. Haha. My cousin is in the unit i was 2 yrs back. But i didn go back so didn get to see him. heh.

Hopefully i'll be able to join these guys throughtout my 10 cycles of reservist. (Theres a chance to get posted to some other unknown unit if one defers)

~Goodbye Normal Comfy World~

RESERVIST. Nuff said.

Just incase it wasn enough, let me expound. Going back for reservist for a week or so. Ends on sat officially. Starts tml. ~_~ have to lug all that baggage back to that ulufied shithole again. REEEAALLLY feel like just taking a cab all the way there from my place. urg. but its gonna be so expensive! rah.

so i've been working for the past couple of weeks. So admin job from parkway again but this time im under people/human resource. Shuffling between gleneagles hospital and this office building at bendemeer road. The pay sucks, 6.50/hr but at that point in time 6.50/hr presented itself as better than 0/hr. To add salt to the wounds im processing health screener's timesheets which are at rates of 8.50/10/12 bucks per hr depending on shifts. like wow. seriously can earn big bucks with that job.

on the plus side i've made a few friends from both sides of the camp. Talking to my friends about random stuff gives me something to look forward to amongst the menial and boring tasks like filing and data entry.

so i've been waking up around 6.45 everyday. One of the plus sides of having a job. It helps keep your sleeping schedule in check. Been running on almost every other day either before i go to work or after i get back from work. Should be able to pass IPPT but don't think i can silver it =x

Nothing much to say already. OH YA. if you guys ever go to bugis/suntec area. Go look for this icescream shop called tom's palette. Its at shaw towers. The building between suntec and bugis junction. Its got some REALLY GOOD icescream. Try their salted caramel cheesecake. Its one of my favourites. Dont go on sundays though, cos their closed.

~Baito!~

if you've been wondering why i've not been blogging lately. Its because i am lazy.

That. And the fact that i just got a job(quite tiring one at that) yesterday.

That. And the fact that my mom was hospitalized due to a persistent fever. Doc discharged her but shes still having fever. (Talk about persistent huh)

So the days when she was in the hospital was quite lame. Luckily I didn have a job yet. Cos of the whole H1N1 hoo ha, visiting mom in hospital has been reeeeaaallllyyyy inconvenient. Have to register at the counter before we are allowed to go up everytime we visit. And only 2 ppl are allowed officially to visit a patient. -_- The que to register is just really very long.

Well at least thats over. Hopefully the medicine the doc gave will make my mom better. Mean the fever la. The cancer... Shes visiting some thai doc for it. haha. i know it sounds really unorthodox but the "orthodox" methods have all but failed. The medcine is based on herbs so shouldn have too much problems. Anyways her appetite seems to be improving these days so... Im keeping my fingers crossed. Talk about cross. That faith healing sermone didn work. so yea.

but yea. gotta thank all my friends and relatives who have been suggesting different ways to help my mom. Thank you all so much.

oh my. today has been a wonderful day. i've been bombarded by ideas in my head the whole day. They all sound so cool and fun. rah rah just thinking bout it fires up the jolts in my nerves. Presentation was good too, even though i didn get my critical text(which i wanted to quote in my presentation) back from charice in time, but i guess i still did ok. well basically the comments were pretty good. =)

rah. I've been wanting to get that MRT lady's face out of my first post for very long liao. Guess blogging is just not that big a habit for me these days. haha

Lotsa work from school every week but guess thats just how things are. Still better than mugging for me. haha. Getting more exposed to alot of artist works and i'm beginning to identify more and more of their influences in everyday things. This SEM CCS requires us to do presentations. Basically I did quite well for it cos well, its not that big a presentation really. The marking scheme is also keeping in mind it's the first time some ppl did presentation so compared to PW back in JC this was really erh simple. I remember we even went to the extent of integrating a skit into our presentation back in PW days. haha.

Screwed up my big 3D project on friday though. It's suppose to carry huge weight in my final assessment. But then again its not yet graded so i might be able to change it. Must see how much work i can finish this week ba. haha.

Oh yea i printed my first t-shirt on print making last tuesday. Not iron on ah, silkscreen one okay. haha. I already had that design in mind long ago and just nice have a chance to print it hehehe. buden i didn align it well and it's slanted! hai... guess i'll just have to find perfection in imperfection. haha.

~ Go AWAY! ~

hmmm. Remember that birthday wish i made on my last birthday? I wanted my friends and family to be healthy. Next day my gramps passed away.

Now, my mom's got growthS on her liver again. Cant operate cos doc says cut away so much they whole liver will be gone liao. Cant go on chemo cos the last time she went on chemo it was ineffective already. Thats why she hasn been on chemo after the op. 4-5 lumps on the liver + Cannot op + Cannot Chemo. You do the math. Only thing the doc could come up with was this drug that is pretty new, expensive, slows down the rate of cancer growth but doesn kill off and has risks of high blood pressure and heart attacks. The next best thing would be to hope that TCM can do something about this. Shes already been taking TCM since quite long ago? So im not sure how big an impact will TCM be able to make.

I dont need the world. I just need a miracle.

Belated merry christmas and happy new year guys! Lets have a good round this yr.

Haven been updating much as usual. Dont really think I have much to update about. haha. Havent been tripping around to take pictures too. But oh went out last night to celebrate kok wei's birthday. Haha. Lucky guy with birthday on 1st jan.

Ohhh man. school is gonna start this coming monday! argh! Hols are over! haha. But i guess thats ok. At least i still get to keep my 4 day work week. Timetable hasn changed much just that lecture evolved from 1hr to 2hr lecture. Anyways it used to drag to 1½ hrs, so this just make things official. haha.

Wow. 2008 seemed to have passed by really quickly. I guess it happens to every yr la huh. haha. But yea i think 2008 should be my slackest year by far already. Work abit slack alot then work again then slack again, then go school. Guess the important event in 2008 was that i chose to go study in lasalle. haha. Oh if anything else was of significance then must be my 21st birthday! But then my gramps pass away the next day so yea...

First one erh i became Sito from makansutra. hahaha. And i was just going around eating all the super delicious food and giving the "wah this is shiok" kind of commments. Strangely all the nice food stalls found side by side at the market below my place. haha.

Second one was last night. I found myself stuck in a vampire-holocaust. Everyone is huddled in this dim safehouse. But the situation was totally comedic. Because there were people who thought they got bitten so they went around biting people and you end up with alot of fakes who dont know their true identity. and the real vampires got all confused cos they dont know who is on whose side anymore.

haha. k just wanted to show something from the outing at Ma Maison with FG. Cos i tink it's super cute.

Haha. Its the mascot for Ma Maison's own house wine. Can you make sense of it? its a wolf in sheep's clothing! LOL. Totally no link to wine. Red or white. lol. But it does make the wine label stand out from the others with grape pictures. haha. Gives the wine a very "fun" feel. Something you'll drink to at parties. Not those 20 yrs open one bottle kind. hehe. I just thought this was very cute and clever.

Lotsa unique little things at Ma Maison. The food is not GREAT but still quite nice. It's really the atmosphere. Very cosy and fun dining experience. Should try when you get the chance. Nice place to bring ur other half. haha. Or if ur alone like me, just go by urself. Not as nice but still quite nice. hahaha.

haha. hmmmm yea both groups of my friends gave me similar things mainly due to the recent acquisition of a $1000+ investment on my part. haha, thanks guys! love the new bags. and yea it doesnt hurt to have more bags =)

The NG bag is rather big and spacious as i can fit in my camera and lens into the insert and still have space for other stuff like notes pencil case. Can see from the picture, as i went out today. Theres even a slot for laptop, but since i have not laptop, so i used it to put my file. *hint hint* hahaha.

Really like the rugged feel of the NG bag and how well protected my stuff is inside. haha. The shape of this bag makes it feel like the old black hayrer bag that i used in jc till recently(im gonna retire it liao), so i didn need to get use to carrying this bag at all and it felt really good.

Haha. crumpler always had funny names for their bags. But their quality and not to mention trendy design/colors are always top notch. Which is why i guess its so popular. Which is also why i never got myself one. =p Seems like the only product that is seen more on the streets than the crumpler bag is the levis jeans. Which i incidentally didn get for myself as well. haha.

Nevertheless, I LOVE THIS BAG. It's smaller than the NG bag, so I cant really put A4 sized stuff in there. But im glad there is a size diff, so i can choose the bag depending on the situation. wahaha. What i used to do was to bring out the free canon bag along with whatever other bag i had. or sometimes i would stuff the canon bag into my hayrer/zinc bag and use it like a padded insert. That made the outer bag extremely fat. haha. This bag has a rather sporty feel to it, which i guess is a trait seen on most crumplers. Which makes it nice when i am bringing the camera along during active outings.

Canon EOS jacket.
Erh... haha i dont know what to say bout this. lol. Can go fishing already. (no pun intended) haha. In SG if you pull out a DSLR, you attract alot of attention already. I mean yea its getting more and more common but it still attracts alot of attention especially when ppl hear the shutter sound or if one uses a flash. Well this jacket kind of solves this problem in a very warped sense. haha. Cos now, ppl dont stare at you when you pull out the big black camera. They stare at you BEFORE you pull out the camera. hahaha. I appreciate the thought guys but im still trying to make sense of ~~how~~ When i'm gonna wear this. haha. maybe i'll wear it to sch just for kicks XD

Dry cabinet:
hmmm... not a very exciting present for myself aint it. hahaha. Not fun or anything but i guess its time i invested in something that can protect my gear properly. Since i got a little bit of extra allowance for my bday, i figured its a form of protection which i owed to my camera and lenses. So yea dry cabinet so that i can store my gear in a safe environment and have no worries bout mould or fungus growing on it. =]

Wow. I totally screwed up my big final project for 2D this sem which subsequently screwed up my review. My 2D teacher is not the very forgiving sort when she sees mistakes so i figured i'd prolly get a D at best. Surprisingly, she gave me a B! wow. I dont know isit due to the fact that I redid alot of my work which she found unsatisfactory at first or she was just cutting me some slack cos I told her my gramps passed away. Either ways, im gonna finish up and touch up whatever work i need during this hols. This hols is defintely not gonna be wasted just on playing and fun.

On another note, fared gave me a D for drawing. I was really expecting the opposite for this as well. Cos Fared is really quite an easy going kinda guy. So this combined with the 2D grade made me quad-check my grades. haha. I was kind of pleased with my improvement in drawing over the past sem and jeremy gave me a B for drawing fundamentals as well. So i really didn see this one coming, much like the 2D grade. haha. Guess i really have some bucking up to do huh. Especially in terms of sketchbook work. got a B for 3D. So current grades are B B B D. Hmmm... still quite far from ideal. I SHALL WORK HARDER!

Oh yea, have pics of my bday outings with both grps on my facebook as well do check it out. JLPT is this weekend! OH NOS! My friend lent me a book containing the 2004 JLPT4 paper and answers. ~ Happy 21st Bday To Myself! ~

Waha it's 11.37 on my com clock currently. In less than ½ an hrs time my 21st birthday will be over. Thanks for all the birthday wishes guys.

Hmmm... Didn do much for my birthday today. Everyone's busy mugging for exams and I'm busy with my review work too. In fact I only went out today to get stuff to do my 2D work.

On the way back i decided to treat myself to smth so i bought a tub of haagen daaz rum n raisin. wahaha. Didn turn out as heavenly as i thought it would though. lol. Still, im almost through with the tub. can see bottom already.

After dinner, my family sat round the table with a cake my mom got for me and they sang songs, i blew out the candles. haha. i do have some shots but im lazy to upload. and most of the shots are quite dark with only me inside... lol

Didn really make a wish for anything in particular. i didn even close my eyes to wish it, haha.

~ URGH ~

I realised its been awhile since i last blogged an entry. I've been kinda busy recently with assignments and projects to rush. Which resulted in many late nights.
This coupled with that jar of peanut butter i bought the other day brought about my current situation. Im sick. urgh. Sore throat's gone by yesterday evening but im down with a cold. Think theres fever to top it off as well. funny i was just advising someone to drink more water the other day so as not to fall sick. I end up being the sick one. Oh, my sis was down with cold before that so i tink i might have caught it from her. haha. didn go for jap lesson just now and suppose to go jamming today but also ended up having to cancel. Which is kinda dissapointing since shaun will be flying back by this coming sat.

anyways i've been celebrating birthdays every weekend for the past few weeks. Which kinda adds on to the workload thing since bday usually takes up one whole day in some way or another. Sometimes its 2 bdays in one weekend. lol.

~ Huge Update ~

Firstly, my mom's fine and out of hospital already. She had her op last thurs evening so i was going to the hospital everyday except for monday. erhhh... she discharged by tuesday. quite surprising cos her op was a pretty major op and she got discharged in less than a week.

heres the thing. after we got into the car, mom started quarreling with my dad. -_- over what? over which way he should have turned which was supposedly the shorter route. -_- dont understand why they have to be so insistent on these kind of thing. i mean like, its just a turn what, not life and death. Does it really matter who is right and who is wrong?

so anyway, that kinda explains why i didn update for so long. hmmmmm.

Erh... I skipped my jap lesson on sunday and went to a jap festival at the Waseda Shibuya High School. Quite cool. Those guys are dam friendly.

Im not in ANY of the following pics cos basically i was the one behind the cam the whole time. haha

Went to their haunted house. I must say they really did put in LOTS of effort in doing up the place. And they really try their best to freak ppl out. One guy was breathing right beside my ear. haha. But then they still manage to be polite at the same time. Jap ghost only scare you visually. They dont do the arm from below grab your leg kinda thing. They made a point strictly not to touch anyone. oh but we did touch this cute teddy bear of a girl ghost though. haha. They are so polite that they will "show you the way" like ushers showing ppl into their seats if you get stuck at a point and dont know what to do. which made it kinda funny. I almost wanted to "get infected" at the end but the thing ended before i knew it so... no time to get infected. Or else it wud have been a blast. haha.

No pix of the inside cos i didn bring my camera in. =p but jap girls seem to look cuter in ghost mode. or maybe they just like to send their cute girls to become ghosts. haha.

~ Minor Update ~

Wow. Just came back from shang's party. quite a blast. haha. i sang 2 songs in a little gig that we did. =p didn sing well though. lol. It was also my first experience with my SLR at events. Learnt a thing or two bout my cam. hmmmm. Events are really diff from scenery. Cos once you miss the shot thats it. The shots don't wait for you like scenery and still-life do. Very dynamic environment but i think i'll get better with more tries. heh.

Quite a busy weekend. 2 birthdays, so gotta rush some work. INFACT, im gonna go do some work now. So i'll give a more detailed update few days later. Maybe when we send shang wei off on wednesday ba. ~ Can I Have A C for Chao Kuan? ~

ok its really like 3 days late but what the heck i'll blog this in anyways. Since i REALLY wanted to blog this back then. heh.

Thursday was project presentation day. The most part of our project was still not done by wednesday. COULD have been done one week ago but all the while we were waiting for the input from another member. That was the most crucial part and we waited one whole week. Then by monday, cindy and i decided it was too late and that we could not go on waiting anymore. Cos by monday yi shi was not in sch and was still unconatactable. So i did the measurements in photoshop and printed out on artcard on monday night and cindy finished the base by tuesday night.

So we agreed to meet up early on wednesday morning (which was conveniently a free day) to finish the project. Yi shi said she had some medical appointment at gleneagles? so ok, i told her to call us as soon as her appt was over and prolly go down to the sch as well.

but we didn hear from her the whole day. We worked from morning till afternoon till evening without hearing from yi shi at all! Finally, cindy got an sms from yi shi...

"hey can you send me the photos of the work online?"

WOW. never hear from you the whole day and you have the cheek to come and ask for photos. WIN LIAO LOR. we were so pissed la. Even other grps also came to ask wheres our third member. And they thought it was pretty unfair too. Basically the whole dam thing was finished between me and cindy. Well ok, yi shi did make half of the base by tuesday but it wasn exactly balanced? and its still just half of what she was suppose to have came up with.

i worked till 10+ 11pm on wednesday night before i went home. Ate my dinner, and continued working till 4.30 in the morning. Woke up at 7+ to go to sch to continue working on the thing again. So you can tell, i was pretty pissed when i was doing the things at home.

anyways heres a pic of what i did.

Supposed to be some toy model. I just bullshitted about how its a "baby's hanging mobile", that it "appeals to the visual aspect" whatever that means, and that the centre piece can spin given the right wind conditions(i've been told but i've not verified myself)

The base frame was what i was talking about earlier which was not suppose to be my part of the project. hah. The frame on top of the curve is formed entirely by individual 2x2x2 cm cubes. So YES it was HELL to stick those things together. And after so much work when you find that they wont hold up, it seriously just makes you dam sian. The middle horizontal beams were originally not there but were added due to a very unfortunate collapse. hah.

So that was how i spent my free day! haha. Quite happy that many people actually found my work interesting. Even during the making process i have had people come up to me and "wow. this looks really good! keep it up man!" kinda thing. haha. guess that really kept me going. heh. ALthough the end product was pretty messy cos we didn have alot of time to make sure everything's stuck in a neat manner... But after the presentation and everything was over, there was a HUGE sense of satisfaction in me. haha. I rewarded myself with a nice meal followed by going home. To sleep from 6pm to 9am next morning. hahaha. That felt REALLY good.

So thats it for this. I tink this is one experience i will remember for awhile... heh.

~ Where's Ma Base! ~

arhhhhh. Don't you just hate it when certain elements of a project grp keep delaying the submission of their part of the proj. ESPECIALLY when its the most fundamental part where everything else is gonna be built base on it. ESPECIALLY when that particular element was suppose to finish our independent week a.k.a Free but not too free week and now is already the one day into curriculum proper.

Admittedly nobody gave any reminders or what but do you really get reminders for you to finish work when you eventually work in the corporate world? Guess sometimes when you wanna get things done you just have to do it yourself.

~ WTF. My printer knows! ~

Haha. Im actually quite shocked. I was printing something out on my printer. Halfway through the 2nd copy it suddenly stopped printing. Its happened before but i didn bother to check why it happes as it usually just continues with the printing after awhile.

This time curiosity got the better of me. So i went to see the printing tab...

WTF. IT KNOWS!

hahaha. ok erm. On to the other item. Ricky's bday celebration! haha. We went to vivo to eat. Walked around and chose sushi tei.

Was waiting for ros to arrive as she was late. So we ordered some "finger food"

UMAKI! its nice. egg with eel.

When ros arrived we agreed on ordering 2 Sumo Chankos. The very hearty steamboat meal which sumo wrestlers eat to gain bulk. (8 of us)

Here we are cooking the chanko. Wow. I look pretty serious. haha

After dinner we decided to go for some dessert and ended up in Ben&Jerry's.

Guess what we ordered. lol.

VERMONSTER!!! WAHAHA.

Heres another shot of it.

Lol. 20 scoops of ice-cream. HUGE portions of brownies and whatever toppings they could find. Bananas. Whipped cream. I mean it was literally the bucket full. haha. The staff there were as excited about the vermonster as the rest of us. I mean how many times does one get to do a vermonster during one's career at Ben&Jerry's.

So yea. We even had to recount our number of scoops a few times when we were choosing flavours. Waha.

8 heroes ventured into the unknown in search of the fabled Vermonster. It wasn your everyday hunt. This was the hunt for the elusive, mother of all Merlionsters. But our young heroes had no idea what they were getting themselves into...

Then, it appeared. The mythical beast stormed into the clearing. Chilling our heroes down to their very bones with its Vermonian Frost Aura. "Attack!" Our heroes shouted.

With their weapons our heroes worked feverishly trying to dent the tough brownie-topping hide of the Vermonster.

Finally, they managed to pierce through to the flesh. Much Vermonster blood was spilled...

However, the Vermonster was just too huge for our heroes to defeat. In the midst of chaos and despair, a young knight stood up and fought against the odds.

Finally he was able to deal the killing blow...

With a mighty groan, the (knight rushed to the toilet) Vermonster fell, never to rise again. Its carcass was left on the battlefield

And people looted the carcass for whatever usable/rare/unique/elite items they could find.

And they fashioned their loot into more useful objects.

In the end, to commemorate the day, people created a monument out of the vermonster carcass.

And they celebrated!

What a glorious day it was. WAHAHAHA.

The "monument" was actually signed by the 4 girls/lady staff who worked there. We got ricky to ask them to sign. hahaha.

What an action packed adventure eh? Maybe i should consider making movies or writing books. lol.

I kinda liked this the most. But my teacher said this one was better?

Haha. Enough of 2D and my face. Some drawings. Didn take with proper lighting so the pictures look quite dark. And the objectives of the past few lessons were about linework so we were not suppose to do shading.

The last one is done with charcoal. Since i was just playing around so i just did some "shading" haha.

~ update update! ~

Been doing quite alot of drawing lately. Pretty bothered bout what my 2D teacher said. hmmmm. Did my homework but when i showed her she said my works looks like i just did it for the sake of doing. -_- really lor i really thought through what i was gonna do. if its not good enough for your standards then at least tell me how exactly i should improve. All i got was "details". ~_^ really. details.

oh and did i mention the way she briefed us on our homework was different from what the project brief stated. great. juussst great.

tried to do another one with more focus on "detail" but it just turned out like all the rest? haha.

~ FLyer update ~

Ok heres some pics from the SG flyer which i promised!

Took this bus from cityhall mrt there(coleman street) to get to the flyer. They call it the funvee. haha. Its a free open air kind of converted bus.

See the green room behind. Thats actually this place where they will take a picture of you in a "cabin" and later superimpose it behind a nice background. Will expound more on this later.

Alot of my initial pictures are very "noisy" because i forgot to tone down my iso... haha. it was set at the max. lol.

Little update on my room. cos im gonna go to sch tml liao. Just shed some light on my slow progress. haha. maybe, MAYBE finish up whatever needs finishing during december breaks. hehe. This is how it looks like now.

Im planning to get a table infront of the long bench. Then i'll sit on my beanbag on the bench and work on the table when i need to. waha. i like my guitar holder!

~ First Day! ~

Well, yesterday was sort of my first day at school. Orientation, albeit a dry one, provided useful information which i will need when school starts next week. No, none of that soap and canvas sliding or "secret buddy"ing. Just mostly focusing on which blocks' which and what are the things that need to be prepared for school.

so i went to school in the morning met up with bryan. Erhhh... Just met this guy at the interview and we exchanged phone numbers. So he asked me if i wanted to join him for the orientation. I ended up talking to bout 3 or 4 more of his friends. haha.

oh. guess who was my emcee for the talks. it was this guy!

oh yea. Turns out he was from lasalle too or may still be studying. Either ways he was part of the helping out committee for the orientation.

I went for laselle orientaion and all i got was this lousy t-shirt!

Haha. Well i think its a pretty nice shirt. At least better than what my battalion has been coming up with. (I have like at least 4 tops of different design from my battalion/unit/army life)

School seems like its gonna be pretty intensive from day 1... Lotsa programmes packed into each day. My timetable looks like this...

wahaha. at least i've got fridays empty. Every friday is a good friday! haha.

so thats about it for my first day in laselle. School's starting coming monday.

Ohh wth. My dad just passed me a ticket to the SG flyer. haha. Say cos he not feeling well... Thing is on at 7. Suppose to reach cityhall by 6.30
Actually didn wanna go on SG flyer until the IR construction was done and all the stupid cranes had moved away. but oh well. since its free and all. haha.

~ zomg! school's starting! ALREADY?!~

hah. thursday's my orientation liao. cant believe my post ord life just zoom past so quickly. i use to dream about it everyday when i was in NS. haha. and its over just like that. In the blink of an eye.

I've still been feeling uncertain bout my decision to go laselle. Have i told anyone? lol. don't get me wrong, im definitely gonna give it my best shot. or shots if i have to. Just that its still kinda scary that im not following the mainstream path. Seeing my friends going off for their orientations and what not, just makes me feel kinda... left out? haha. cos its a pretty solo adventure for me. and even if i do find treasure, right now, theres no one to share it with.

In many things in life i prefer the unorthodox path to the tried and true method. So what the hell? you may ask. Shouldn this be what you are looking for. YES. it is what i am looking for, but as much as i'll enjoy it, theres still that bit of me thats afraid something's gonna go wrong.

Cos if it does go wrong. Im gonna get some "i told you so" looks. haha.

Life is gamble. Guess this is why it feels abit scary to me - cos i just upped the stakes.

(and i CANNOT find that impt letter which im suppose to bring for my thurs orientation. =x)

~ Batam. Where 30 + 30 = 80~

Woah. This is a long post! With pics and vids! hahaha. Enjoy...

waha. Shall blog bout my batam trip now. started off the day at tiong bahru plaza. Bought some stuff to bring over. Had lunch, and headed off to tanah merah to catch the ferry. dunoe why its not at harbour front. Alvin's mom's company arrange one. haha.

After that, we boarded a bus and headed for the ferry terminal at changi. There was some confusion with some of our boarding passes.

Wong Yong Xun became Bong Yong Kuix. hahaha. we had a good laugh out of that.

So we boarded the ferry after the problems with the boarding passes were resolved.

There were helpful signs in the ferry telling us about the amenities available.

Finally we arrived at batam. The place we alighted at was totally dead. We were not even sure if we had to put our bags through the scanners. haha.

Took the resort transport provided to the place. Not before stopping by the "duty free shop" to get scammed into buying prawn crackes at $3.50 sing/ pack.

So, here we are at the chalet!

There was even a spiral staircase leading to the second floor/attic

Pretty low ceiling on the spiral staircase, but other than that i think its a nice staircase. haha.

Went over to the resort beside ours as all the sea sports and activities were supposedly found there. Turned out they were taking the off peak season to renovate the place and alot of the things previously available were now temporarily unavailable. I can understand why. There were only one or two other groups in the whole area who are also on holiday there like us. Anyway here are some photos i took of the place.

OK. i must admit. That doesn say much about the place... haha. Anyway it wasn where i was staying at what... so... who cares. lol.

After we enquired bout the activities that were available for us to do the day after, we headed back. This time we decided to take a different trail. But OMG, was it a long trail...

When we reached the chalet, we started to find things to do. We decided on mahjong and after some time playing, dinner was ready. Prepared by Alvin's mom. Yea she came along to help settle some administrative procedures. Then she decided to cook too, cos she said she liked cooking. Must thank her for the wonderful meals she prepared for us there.

Alvin's mom also brought little snacks for us to bite on... Among the things were these little chocolate wafers called "Beng Beng"

We saw the name and immediately took a liking to it. We pronounced it as Beng(3) Beng(2). Then we saw the words below the name and laughed even harder...

MILLIONS OF FREE BENG BENG TO BE WON!! omg! Not a car, not a trip to hawaii, but you get to win more Beng Beng with your one Beng Beng! WOW! LOL.

After dinner and cleaning up, we continued with mahjong. Not long after, we heard some snoring coming from the sofa behind us. OMG, Bob(a.k.a Yong Kuix) had decided to lie down on the sofa and take a nap after dinner. Not something you would do at a chalet right? Sleeping right after dinner is not even something i would do normally. haha. Well, he was quite a sound sleeper... So, when we decided to take a group pic, we decided not to wake him up...

Continued to play some other games like taboo and saboteur till about 2. Then we decided to catch some Zs...

Woke up the next morning at 6.30 to catch the sunrise...

It was a pretty cloudy day... So didn manage to get good pictures. Decided to go back and catch some more shut eye.

Woke up a second time to a breakfast of triple egg porridge. Courtesy of Alvin's mom again. It was a nice meal but we couldn finish it all.

Headed for the neighbouring resort again to do our sea sports. Wanted to do some kayaking and snorkling. However the sea sports guy say this time of yr water not clear, cant see anything. so not point. =( we did do kayaking though. Even aimlessly kayaking around for awhile was pretty fun... hahaha. Sorry no pictures for this part of the trip as i cant possibly bring my camera with me to do watersports.

Had lunch at the neighboring resort's ONLY restaurant. The food was pretty ok, i'd say 7-8 for taste. It was about pricey though. But aye, resort restaurant, guess its supposed to be like that.

Headed back to our place after lunch. Most of them felt sian after awhile and went to take afternoon nap. Godwin and I decided to give the beach a go and see what we could find.

At first, we only found things like broken shells and broken porcelain...

As we got bored, we started finding more interesting things.

The thing in our hands was actually a hermit crab. Small one, but still a hermit crab...

After awhile... We made a shocking discovery.

THE WHOLE SHORELINE WAS LITTRED WITH HERMIT CRABS!!!

Then, we found more interesting finds.

A flower crab. When we found it, it was upside down. But we were unsure if it was dead or alive. haha.

Then we found a crab that was alive for sure!

There were lots of sand-burying crabs around. We followed one back to it's nest and it didn run anymore.

Took a picture of our footsteps in the sand as well.

When it was almost time to go, we gathered all our non-living finds on the beach and took a photo!

Went back to the chalet as it was time for the van to pick us up to send us to batam centre. On the way there we went past the town where the people there actually lived in. It was really quite run down. Pity i couldn get any shots as i was in the van and it was moving fast. But there was really a big difference between the developed area and the undeveloped over there.

Had dinner there at this cafe called "godiva coffee". Turns out it had absolutely no relation with Godiva. Prolly a rip-off of the name. haha. But the food was still quite good la. And cheap too. So i've no complaints in that regard.

Shopped around and we headed for a familiar fast food joint.\

haha. VEEEERY long since i've seen an A&W. I doubt it exists anymore in SG.

Look at that delicious and frothy chilled mug of root beer float. Wow. Although its not something thats authentically Batam. Its something you cant find in SG anymore.

Headed back to chalet in the van. After we alighted there were problems with payment. We could not communicate with the driver at all as he doesn speak english. And alvin's parents went back already. GREAT. so i went to find the security guards and waddya know? They dont speak english as well! So we sign languaged for awhile and the driver pulls out a piece of paper and wrote "100 dolar" (Most things were paid for in Sing over there) We were shocked. Initially what we were told was $30 for 3 hours. We didn even take 5 hours. So max is wad, $60? So the guy pulls out his handphone and finally we got to talk to someone who speaks A LITTLE english. He told us $80. -_-

It was totally not the kinda charges we were informed of. So we asked why. So they said ohhh, every subsequent extra hour is $13. Fine. $13. We did our math and it still didn add up. Suddenly the amount changed to every extra hour is $15. ... Like wth. ITS STILL NOT 80. So my friend literally did the math out for the guy.

"First 3 hours. How much. $30? Ok. Extra hour how much? $15? Ok. 1 hour $15, 2 hour how much? $30. So $30 + $30 how much?"

"80"

-_- we were totally pissed off by then. But somehow the situation semi worked out into settle the bill the next day. So fine. we took back the $60 we initially gave and went back to our chalet. PISSED.

Ahhh bloody whatever. We decided to forget the incident, at least for the night and not affect our mood for... Drinking games!

After a few rounds, godwin lost quite abit and he got abit tipsy from the drinks...

It was pretty funny to see godwin drunk. He did all the random and stupid things. lol. Apparently he even woke up in the middle of the night and poked shang wei...

Shang: Crazy. Go back to sleep la.

LOL. wth la. hahaha.

In the morning we managed to get the transport fees sorted out. Apparently there was some price increase and the base charge was no longer 30 for 3 hrs but 50 for 3 hours... Well since it was all printed out in black and white and given to us by the reception at our chalet we decided to just pay them. But 100 dolar was defintely wrong.

Miraculously everyone managed to wake up by 9+. Though we were still experiencing the effects of the previous night. Godwin made french toast as he promised. But his first one was a failure. Square piece of bread that soaked up all the butter. hahaha. Subsequently bob and shang taught him bout triangles and frying more than one at the same time. haha. We also had some doughnuts that we bought from J.CO the previous night. Doughnuts there are pretty cheap, bout less than one dollar for one? haha. Compare that to the J.CO here in SG man. Quite a diff. heh.

My camera battery was drained by the 3rd day and i didn bring my spare... so no more pictures liao. haha. After we checked out we headed for the docks and took the ferry back to SG. Had lunch at Dallas Chicken in chinatown. Quite a nice place, the boss is this young Indian guy with a Thick aussy slang. Think he is still trying to work out what prices he should put on his menu... haha.

So thats bout it for my batam trip. I think overall there were many things we did and saw in a short span of 3 days and 2 nights. Batam is a beautiful place, if you're in the right area. haha. But if you're going there, do be careful of scams... lol.

I had the whole week but i procrastinated to friday before i started making. And sunday was the celebration. AND saturday evening was seno's bday party. hahaha. so yea... The rushing part made the making of the pinata more tiring.

~ OMG AN UPDATE! ~

haha. im going to batam till wednesday! hoho. so for all you ~~losers~~ hardworking sluggers out there still in their offices/camps. This post will attempt to keep you entertained for the short time you are reading it. waha

was at seno's party yesterday. today went out to celebrate wan's bday. will upload some shots i took from seno's bday. more pictures coming in when i get them. waha.

so he had his party at this relaxing little retreat called villa bali. best part of it is that its somewhere behind old SAJC. which means it was SUPER near my place. haha.

so 2 shots(almost the same) of what it looks like.

Then the host made us play a rather common game in such functions. Take funny props and pretend to be in a band while the music plays... So out of my group, these 4 were chose.

After that "game" they got the kids in the group to go on stage to dance. And i must say i was really impressed. especially with this boy:

He's got da moves man! haha. can see a clubber in him. lol.

Then the younger boy in white. well he's just there. Being ABSOLUTELY oblivious to his surroundings. haha. daaam cute.

Left the party at 11.30 heh. must say it was quite the party. hopefully can get the group photos from him soon. then i'll post.

Went out today for jap lesson and after that went to celebrate wan's bday. haha. will elaborate more when i get back and get the photos. lol.

~ some pictures ~

went out on sat to present hunt with some of my pj classmates.(A.K.A FG)
we split ways at millenia walk and i was headed towards suntec. Then i saw this...

WOW. dunoe wad happen to that bus man. the whole road just got congested quite quickly. All the cars headed towards that direction had to slow down cos they cudn see what was infront. almost like they installed a fogger into that exhaust. If you noticed the 2 pictures looked diff. Thats cos i was using different white balance to shoot. Resulting in the first one looking like its in the morning. The 2nd one... just looks alot dirtier.

Didn use any curves or what to edit these photos cos i wanted to retain their original feel and quality.

The next 2 shots were taken quite some time ago. Saw this the other day as i was walking to busstop to go for jap lesson. Went back home to get camera. haha.

But when i got there the cloud moved behind a building so couldn capture it perfectly. The shots i took had too much clutter around. I didn include the lamppost on purpose this time. Lampposts just happen to be everywhere. haha.

so how? haha.

Ohhh. and i also saw a cloud version of L! hahaha. took some pics. check it out...

do you see it? LOL. thats a L right there. quite a quaint looking cloud. Took it cos seldom see clouds in this kinda cute cute shape. usually they just come in one blob.

Met up with the guys at Chinatown on sat evening. wanted to go sing k. haha. but we didn book beforehand so cudn get anything. Went to try the famous German Sausage. Must say it was rather dissapointing. Portions were measly. Nothing special. I think i can make mash better than that guy. haha. The only saving grace was the ambience and the fact that there was a live band there. live band playing hokkien songs. -_-

Hmmmm. Just a short update. Mom's going in for the op this friday le. But chemo started few weeks back. Those side effects of chemo which you see in shows, they really do come in. hah. Last time wasn so bad cos oral medication. This time round is intravenous chemo so the impact on a larger magnitude.

so yea. im tinking of leaving my job this coming friday liao. still thinking if i should. prolly see if i can hand over everything on time bah.

~ Yet Another Week Of ZERO Exercise ~

hahaha. Like the title suggests, i have not been exercising at all for almost 2 weeks. Since that night when i sprain my ankle. I can walk with it now definitely, but its not fully recovered yet. Still feel quite weird when i pick up my pace abit. And theres still this pain when i try to bend the ankle outwards.(like the sprain position) haha. So yea... Guess i wun be running for at least another week? Im thinking of swimming though. hmmm...

My phone is getting abit cranky these days, sometimes it cant detect the memory stick, other times it shuts down by itself. Guess i cant blame my phone entirely as i have the habit of leaving my phone on overnight while its charging instead of turning it off. Because its a real pain to on it after i switch it off...

Luckily my phone plan is a one yr plan so i will be "upgrading"/"extending" the contract soon and prolly be getting a new fone! haha. But its all only in the "i tink that should happen" stage. Phone's not on the top of my priority list right now. As long as the current one doesn outcrank it's economical viability.

I've been watching D.grayman recently. Just caught up to the latest episode yesterday. haha. I must say, i notice that there seems to be this trend in shounen animes. The main charc tends to be the hot blooded young underdog and almost all the time he will have an act-cool, smart and capable friend who tends to appear at the back of group shots looking at somewhere else. AND, the act cool guy will usually have black hair! haha.

D.grayman kinda reminds me of full metal alchemist though. I didn watch that series, although its apparently very popular as well. Only caught a few episodes and roughly know what that world is about.

Both the main charc are around the same age and both have a weird arm each. Even the villains they fight seem to originate from the same source. Some stuff that popped out from the bible. In D.grayman its the Noah clan and they have certain traits each. In FMA the villains are named after the 7 sins. Gluttony, Lust, Greed etc.

Ohh yea. I caught "Get Smart" yesterday with my frens. haha. Its a reaaally funny show. Kept me laughing through the entire show. The pace was quite well set. And Steve Carell was doing what he does best. Acting as the not so bright but still dependable in times of need kinda underdog charc.

You'll prolly recognize many familiar faces in the show. Duan "The Rock" Johnson, "Hiro Nakamura(dun noe his real name)", the black guy from white chicks to name a few. haha.

So yea, i really recommend that show. Go catch it in yr spare time yea. If you have no spare time, then MAKE spare time.

But again its great to see she has many friends surrounding her who gives her support and encouragement. Not forgetting the fact that she herself is strong too. I'll try my best to do all the things that can lessen her worries... (Like clean up my room). Hopefully she'll get well soon... This time also have to go for op. hah. but hopefully she will get well after the op. hmmmm.

haha. the sun was really nice and warm today and alot of different clouds were out. That made a perfect day for a little shooting at the sky. haha.

Here are some of the shots that i took. These are not edited in anyway, except for resizing, basically these are exactly how they look like in my camera.

If you noticed, the buildings on the last picture were actually tilted. Didn notice for this picture until i actually finished uploading. haha. The next picture suffers from the same problem but i managed to photoshop it so it looks more straight.

OK...... I just saw the preview and its not THAT obvious that the "before" pic was any more tilted than the "after" pic. haha. maybe cos the buildings were more or less silhouetted so cant discern the patterns and windows clearly. hahaha.

Alright i took this shot this morning as i was walking to the bus stop. Lacks the contrast and color to translate into a more powerful image though...

Lastly i have a macro shot of my name tag on my work table. Initially the picture was already composed to my liking. Cos i like to play with depth of field. But it just seemed abit washed out. so i adjusted the contrast settings. Then i added in some noise and burned in some shadow to add to the overall effect of the "depth of field" and really bring out the tag to the foreground.

Recently kept going into conversations of "the good old days" or topics that went along the line of "those were the days". hahaha. Wow. Making us sound so old, like we already lived through a decade.

(Sidetrack abit, after my run just now i was in the lift with a mother and her kid. The mother was saying:"See kor kor go exercise. Next time you grow up must also exercise!" Then she looked at me and went:"kor kor or uncle?" I was like WTF?!? inside but i just laughed it off. That REALLY made my day. oh man. Plus i sprained my ankle while running. -_- hopefully i'll be well enough to walk around tomorrow to collect ward forms and stuff... hah. But the nice sky and weather was really nice today. =) haha)

SO YEA. lets get back to topic! hahaha. Its really nice to talk with friends and laugh about the stupid things that we or other buggers did back in sec sch days.

I wonder if we'll still be enjoying ourselves doing stupid things as we enter tertiary education and subsequently the working class. i can only hope that we will still get enough time to meet up and chill together. haha.

That was the author of "The Kite Runner". A book i throughly enjoyed and savored. After a looooong wait, i've finally got my hands on his 2nd book, A Thousand Splendid Suns. (It came out last year but i was a cheapskate and wanted to wait for the paperback version. haha). Just in time as i finish "The Logic of Life"

"She would never leave her mark on Mammy's heart the way her brothers had, because Mammy's heart was like a pallid beach where Laila's footprints would forever wash away beneath the waves of sorrow that swelled and crashed, swelled and crashed."

Such is the beauty of Khaled's writing. I love the way he describes places, faces and emotions with such intrinsic detail. Its like watching a show on a HD tv. Hahaha.

The second book revolves around war torn Afghanistan and its people again. However it's focus shifted from father son relationships to the oppressed women in the country. Right now i still prefer kite runner, for its many unexpected and heart wrenching twists. However, i am still just halfway into the book. So we'll see. haha.

(contd from title) Both also can. Those were the words coming out from a warrant officer at maju camp today. He was referring to the incentive money given to people who got gold for ippt. $400 buckeroos.

Yes. I took my ippt today. But i didn manage gold. lol. but im quite happy with my silver and $200 thank you. =] no nid to go back for 2nd installment. hahaha. not bad ah, 3-4 hrs earn $200. Divide that into monthly pay that roughly translates to 8k/month. LOL. If only i get to do this everyday AND get paid. Thats just for silver. Gold is $400 so double the pay. lol.

Me and godwin both got our silvers, which were our initial targets. So im quite happy that we hit our targets. Daniel failed his running and due to that his whole ippt as well. Maybe going with him when he is ready to take the test again, to give him some moral support.

Im reading this book called "The logic of life". Haha. I know it sounds like a corny selfhelp book but in actual fact its not. It sets out to explain the questions in life in as logical a way as possible. Issues like racism, why most guys are inherently more open to sex than most girls are and how the criterias which determine a good partner can be affected. Its written by Tim Harford, who was the writer for "The Undercover Economist". The first book defintely has a cooler sounding name, don't know why the cheesy one for the second, but the contents are definitely worth your time. hah. Do check it out if you find yourself looking for something good to read and you wanna have a look at the cross-section of life.

The other day i was with Daniel at work and he had been sneezing and weezing for the past week or so. So it didn surprise me to see him as always trying to find a dry spot on his soaked tissue to maximise, as he would put it his "life".

According to Daneil, the number of tissues he has in his pockets can be seen as his health bar not unlike in a RPG. His "life" diminishes over time and he must finish his "quest"(our collection of data survey forms from the wards) before his life runs out. Do i have to tell you he plays World of Warcraft?

Anyways, as i was saying, it was a typical sniffing day for him but suddenly a realisation hit him. He turned to me and told me...

"I think i know why im like this already."

"why?"

"Not enough cola in my body"

I gave him the -_-

His typical diet will almost always include a bottle or can of coke. Coke(not the drug) to Daniel is like how wine is to the drunken master. There can never be too much coke in the world.

So he decides to buy a bottle of coke(and to top it of a kit kat) to help relieve him of the symptoms. By evening time he was telling me how wonderful the coke was and how much better he felt. Talk about placebo effect. Think that guy's faith in coke is almost as strong as Newton's faith in gravity.

Met up with few of the guys just now. They went to watch speed racer but i didn want to. Personally i think its a dumb show. The wachowski brothers started making the film with the intention of making a "real life cartoon". So i had my doubts. Talked to a friend who watched the show already and he was telling me:

"The show is dam cock one la! You know the weapons they use. Its not real weapons. They take bee hive and throw at the opponent one. Its like mario kart racing like that"

Big surprise... haha. And my guess is that rain's role/job in the film is pretty much just to look good.

Although i didn go for the movie i think overall it was still a nice evening out with some of the guys. The turnout rate tonight was rather pathethic given that its a saturday. haha. Im starting to enjoy more quality non-wow and even non-army conversations with some of them now! hurrah! Shaun talked to me about how he cooked his first steak the other day. All the searing and stuff. Makes me wanna cook steak too. lol. Bob just got his new guitar so we were discussing about its specs and whether or not Yamaha really sold Ibanez guitars. Seno and i talked about many things, among them, CHUCK NORRIS! haha. Ofcourse army talk always manages to slip in but at least we were talking more bout the tactics we've seen ppl use to keng. haha.

I was just thinking about the issue of "foreign talents"(FTs) in Singapore the other day. It seems that with the relaxing of rules regulating influx of FTs since last year, the FT population has been growing at alarming rates. Consequently, but not surprisingly, we hear more and more people from different walks of life complaining about the competition they face with rivals from abroad. Some of these complaints are not too friendly as well.

Let's step back and take a look at things. Singapore is not the first country in history to embrace FTs. A good example would be America. The kind of situation we have is somewhat similar to what America has with its immigrants from Mexico, China or other parts of the world. America to Mexicans are like... Singapore to Ah Tiongs(There i've said it). Will the kind of dissent we are having and growing head in the same direction as the kind of dissent and racism some of them have for their FTs.

We look at countries like these and see their racism and say, thats just f*cked up la. Then we go back home and curse and swear at the "Ah Tiong who stole my job". Im not saying im supporting or against the issue ppl have with FTs. Just saying that i find some things similar.

In retrospect, the Halocaust could have been supported by such dissent and anger as well. Argued in a perverse way, it is just a blown up version of anger against FTs. My views on such issues may change once i enter a different phase of life, but for now i leave you with a thought. What will happen if a second hitler gets hold of such a chance to find support for his cause.

~ So Long My Friend ~

Hmmm. First things first. I wish to dedicate this post to Jordan Tay Yong Ming. My friend, and ex-colleague from parkway health corporate comms, who passed away yesterday, due to a traffic accident.

At first I thought it was some rumours that was just being spread around but later i msged jith and the news was confirmed. The guy was only in his twenties, with lots of passion and flair. He once told me that he would stay in corp comms just long enough to get him a good resume and quickly change jobs(cos of the boss issue). Well he just quit bout few months ago only. hai... My friend, if only you'd seen it coming, maybe you could've quit sooner. hah.

Speaking of the boss, i bumped into him just now at Mt. E. He asked me if i was heading over to the wake and stuff. Then passed me $50 for dinner. ~_~

So i used the $50 to take a cab down and gave $20 as "white gold". hah.

Well at least i bumped into him(Jordan) in the streets awhile back over the weekend when he quit Corp Comms. Was glad to see that guy again, didn expect that to be the last time though =\

Well, thats my first, friend's funeral which i attended. Hopefully there wont be any in a long time to come. Like wth la. I haven even attended a first "friend's wedding" hai...

In other news, my grandfather is in a hospice, transferred from a hospital due to a fall. Last weekend we went to visit him and he just seemed so out of whack, his talking reduced to mumbling and the kind of things he talked bout sometimes didn makes sense. Now he cant take solid foods so his "meals" are just nutrient fluids passed down an angi-tube which is connected through his nose. I dont know if i got the spelling right but yea i guess its the same thing iron man pulled out of his nose after he woke up from the terrorist attack...

As you can prolly imagine, having a tube stuck all the way down from your nose is gonna be quite uncomfortable. So i guess thats why my gramps made attempts to remove it... =\ Its not an A class ward so they don't have one nurse to one patient so they cant keep an eye on him all the time. So to prevent him from removing the tube, they tied his hands to the bed frame... And you just feel like fuck when you see those eyes screaming "PLEASE DONT TIE ME UP ANYMORE" so... yea. Well when we're there we can untie the knots and wheel him out to look look see see. But when no one is there to take care of him i guess they go back to routine. It seems quite common for patients there to be tied up in one way or another. My parent's friend's dad was there too and apparently he tried to commit suicide or wad =\ so they belted him down to the bed.

Ohhh, and my mom told me the other day they found some tumour growing at her liver now... Have to go for op again and this time the chemo will be the drip kind instead of oral medication. Dammit.

So yea. Life has never been better.

VERY NICE. lol. incidentally that quote caused some erhh misunderstandings... LOL. but yea do check out the anime, i HIGHLY RECCOMEND IT. its 27 episode long so in my opinion, anyone can finish it in a day if he/she doesn have any important commitments. i finished half in one night and another half in another night. cos i cudn get all 27 in one go. lol.

ohhh yea. previous post i wrote bout stevy's bday bbq... I left out an interesting detail... haha

That night when the bbq came towards an end, we were pushed along by some over enthusiastic ppl to catch the movie at tiong bahru. as we were already running late we quickly loaded up stevy's bbq stuff and everyone loaded into the cars. we had 3 cars... So we were out of the carpark and on the main road already when my phone rang...

I WAS SHOCKED. we actually left the bday boy behind! OMG!

~ Happy Belated Bday To STEVEY! ~

waha. yesterday went J.E library to study with my jap class friends. cos got test today! OMG! haha. it was a VERY tricky test but i'd say overall im still safe ba. i hope =x

Studied till evening then took 2 176, cos the first one was in the wrong direction... zzz... to west coast park to meet up with the gang for stevey's bbq bday celebration! wahaha. i was already late by 1hr plus i tot, wah go there straightaway can eat. end up nobody started cooking anything yet...

so yea basically i TOTALLY didn see it coming but kee chun went as well. haha omg. i tot things wud be pretty awkward but ok la we still managed to have fun as a grp. i didn go up to him and "so... hey........." that wud've been pretty weird wudn it. hah.

after the bbq a portion of the group went home, stevey had his church frens over as well so naturally after the bbq they went their way we went ours. and ours was towards TBP to watch... waddaya know. Forbidden Kingdom. -_-

its a REALLY crappy show. its almost like the whole of china suddenly magically learn how to speak english to accomodate the "foreign talent" Oh. did i mention there was the Monkey God and 白发磨女 as well. And they were fighting enemies who sometimes held ninja daggers. WOW. typical american thinking of "asians". They can never differentiate between chinese and japanese. Even if they do, still have koreans to add to the pot. haha. so yea. DUN WATCH THAT SHOW. urgh.

thats bout it for this post. ciao. anyways we got stevey a digital photo frame =] cos he likes photography and techy stuff. and i think a photo frame is quite meaningful a gift. Now that its digital, the cost justify the sharing, hahahaha, and its alot cooler. hohoho.

due to the difference in the "payout" that everyone gets, its not uncommon to hear people talking bout "WAH. why you get $100 more than me!!"

this is a stark contrast to when i was in camp. IPPT silver wins u $100 and ippt gold wins you $200...

The typical answer to talks about getting gold was:
"AIYAH. CHIONG so hard for what... silver and gold $100 difference only."

Notice that in both cases its a difference of $100, but in the 2nd scenario, 100 dollars was ONLY.

Anyways i've got a job again. actually i just went back to the first job i had(HENG NOT THE 2nd) Can't afford to be job picky now liao. lol. anyway just nice my ex-successor left for poly. so now my ex-successor become my predecessor! haha. The difference now is that, same work, used to be 3 person handling. Now its down to 2. Lucky the other person is daniel and he is can chiong one. haha.

so same working environment and all that... but like i said i cant afford to be job picky now. plus i've been bumming around for quite awhile already. wahh... today, or rather yesterday, was a very painful day for my heart!

first time i use the max limit on my nets! wahhhh

at first i thought would be able to get bank loan or use my dad's cpf to pay for my sch fees... well apparently theres no bank which liaises directly with laselle like they do with the likes of NUS/NTU

then i thought ohh ok use my dad's cpf to pay first ba...
Turns out he just used it to invest in something or some insurance or wad. then have to pay for house... no money to help le. -_-

~ The Bucket List ~

waha. just watched the bucket list with few of my friends just now at vivo. its quite a nice movie. worth a watch. some parts you will really laugh out loud, but overall its still a very meaninful movie. just a little spoiler here. the name bucket list is derived from the fact that its a list of things you want to do before you kick the bucket. so the show is basically bout the things you wanna do before the 2 old guys die. it also touched a little on the pt where people's list will change over time... like when you are young and full of energy, maybe in your bucket list is to earn a million dollars. when you get older(and possibly richer) you might not want that anymore. Or it might have already been done. so people add new things to their bucket list. Maybe write a book? haha. thats a common one. so, i think it will be interesting to come up with a bucket list say... every once in awhile, and see how many things you can strike off inbetween the lists. Anyone care to try? haha.

Lalo's Bucket List:
1. cook a meal for my family
2. make an ad that everyone talks about
3. give flowers to the one i love
4. learn to play the saxophone

well... just some things to start off la. i dun see ANY of these in my near future yet but i think its nice to have some goals to work towards. haha. and i tink my mom will just flip if i bring back a sax one day. lol. i don't know if i will even remember to work towards these goals but i tink it would be nice if we could live our lives from bucket list to bucket list. heh.

Some good news finally?

Govt to cut ministerial salaries and fees

SINGAPORE: SINGAPORE may be cutting ministerial salaries as an inflation-taming measure. In addition, government fees will also be cut.
A government spokesperson disclosed this yesterday in response to media queries on what steps the Government could take to alleviate the impact of rising prices.
He said: 'Government fees, although their going up is justified, will be cut indefinitely.
"Where it is within our control, we will cut whatever needs to be cut. Our ministers are already the best paid in the world, they can live with a few hundred thousand less a year."

Consumer price inflation in Singapore hit 6.5 per cent last month from a year ago. In particular, food prices have gone up sharply.
In addition, Woodleigh MRT station will be opened finally, and all trains will run with one-minute intervals during peak hours, and three-minute intervals during off-peak hours. Public transport will no longer be treated as a primarily profit-driven commercial enterprise but a real public service. The rail operators will also not be allowed to raise their fees for three years or pass any costs from fines to their customers.
This was revealed in the Land Transport Masterplan by the Land Transport Authority.
"As part of our people-centred land transport system, we want to end the overcrowding and long waits. No more overcrowded trains and buses, and unnecessary feeder buses!" an LTA spokesperson said.
ERP rates will be cut next month, by as much as 50%. This is in response to motorist feedback on roads where the ERP has not eased congestion in any way. Some gantries may even be dismantled.
Bicycles, previously ignored as a means of transport, will be given dedicated bike lanes where possible, and sharrows where it is not practical to have a bike lane.
The LTA has acknowledged that cycling is more than a leisure or recreational activity but is an environmentally sound mode of transport, and a healthy one too.
"We plan to make it safe for cyclists to ride again, instead of making piecemeal measures towards bicycle and pedestrian safety. We will no longer be using Singapore's land constraints or hot weather as an excuse to ignore this growing group of road users. One more cyclist may mean one less car on the road, you know?" said a spokesperson.
The measures were also introduced to reduce the dangerous practice of pedestrian sidewalk cycling, the spokesman told us.
Lift and estate upgrading will be carried out for all estates, regardless of whether they belong to the ruling party or the opposition. The government has accelerated this program in order to stimulate the economy and because there is a real need for lifts, especially for the elderly.
"An elderly person in an Opposition estate is still an elderly person," said a government spokesperson.
Oh, and Happy April Fools' Day.

~ Renovations ~

haha. so sorry for long haitus again. heh. i've been doing up my room. Just finished painting 4 walls and ceiling. tml see if there are any problems do some touch up then can bring in some new furniture liao! hoho

wah painting is tough work man... haha. ESPECIALLY the ceiling. Gotta crank ur head up and stare at ceiling. Then roller cannot load with too much paint or else it will just rain down on u when u paint, but when the roller is dry its very hard to paint. Need to keep rolling over the same area over and over again.

SO GLAD THAT ITS DONE. hah

gonna get new bed! new shelf unit! haha. possibly a new table? its good to live beside ikea. heh. will show the room when im done. =D

on another note, i STILL haven found a job. =x anyone got job offers or hole heads to intro? hehehe.

jap lessons are really picking up momentum! im starting to lose track of things already. now at numbers and counting. bleah. and i was late for first half of lesson that day too... =x first time late. ½ lesson gone already abit catch no ball =x then exams coming... wah... maybe tml i will sit down and go through my jap for awhile. hmmm hmmm.

ehhhh... nth much to update. haha. sorry for not updating for so long. haha

hmmmmm. ohhh yah got smth to say. got accepted by laselle liao... have to reply them quite soon. and this is really it. if i choose it. then theres no turning back. ofcourse im gonna chiong really hard if i go in la. haha.

and the lazy part of me was half wishing laselle wudn accept me then i wudn have to make the choice again. haha. I AM LIKE THAT.

went for the interview and everything... and those arts background ppl really have some skills. like all my stuff look like pri sch kids pieces beside theirs.(pardon me for the generalisation. i do realise that there is a very very high possibility that there are pri sch kids out there who can draw better than i can. just using it as a form of speech if you will) so, im beginning to doubt my talent(if i had any). ahaha. yea i know the whole "if you have passion you will excel" drill but... dunoe, just cant seem to get that thought into my head.

so the next few days will be spent contemplating if i should take the last step. cos laselle basically confirm liao is must pay money already. hahaha.

but base purely on what are the things im going to learn... i'd say laselle definitely has more subjects which interests me. infact im tinking MOST of the stuff thats gonan be taught there would be something i would like to learn...

so on that note... it might not be that tough a decision after all. hah. now is just... i guess the deep breath before the plunge into the abyss. hahaha

went to some hotpot-buffet restaurant at marina SQUARE yesterday. basically its the same can eat anything you want, as much as you want style... but they have choc fondue. haha

wahaha. looks nice doesn it. when the marshmellow semi-melts into the choc already, the whole thing just oozes the word "delicious"

anyways... yea i went back the I.T show today. To buy things! haha. now as im typing im staring into a samsung wide screen 19" screen. wooohooo. its not that i wanted to buy the monitor cos i had too much money. monitor really sok sok already. so since theres I.T show going on, just get from there before the previous one totally burns out.

but i must give my previous digitek monitor credit though. its been working for me since wad sec3? haha. thats a really long time. i think the only digitek item that is still surviving in my current setup is the keyboard and speaker. so erhh... heres a tribute to my ex monitor. HAPPY RETIREMENT!!

now, samsung, since you can see this, im sure you can see that digitek set the standards very high. so im expecting nothing less from you ok. wahaha

minor issue now is that since the resolution im using is very different, certain things which used to work don't work anymore. example my blog skin. now it looks like a nice piece of web design bordered by huge inverted white "L" shape. hai

got a new mouse too. finally got down to getting one of them fancy high DPI mouse-es. LOL. k la. mice. its kinda ironic cos the brand is 3 snakes. i mean. if you have snakes then prolly the mouse would be eaten right? hah. maybe theres some pun to it. dunoe.

nothing much to update i guess. oh. for those who dunoe i have munchkin(impossible) and saboteur. went out to have dinner with frens just now and brought along those 2. so played awhile. its quite nice la. cos you can basically convert any coffeehouse/fastfood restaurant into a game cafe. albeit the small number of games, but hey what the heck. at least those 2 games are quite popular, and we enjoyed them everytime. heehee.

~ WHAT A CRAZY DAY ~

haha. im officially not doing the it show any more! lol.

haha. it was quite bad la my results at the end of the day. and i think i owe it to myself and most imptly to my supervisors to stop taking pay when my results are so meager.

but anyways let me elaborate abit on what i was doing.

i was trying to get people to do survey and more importantly sit down and listen to insurance agents talk bout car insurances and what not! haha.

imagine ah. trying to promote insurance at an I.T fair. Its like trying to sell candy canes on CNY. People just avoid you like your the reincarnation of hitler or something. haha.

you get some really hilarious replies too...

"hi sir do you drive a car?"

"yeaaaa....No."

then we both laugh tgt.

but i get it lah. haha. i mean if it were me i wouldn want to be bothered by insurance salesman when im looking for my I.T gadgets right? haha

I think all in all it was a good exp.

At the end of the day, my supervisor mentioned all those who "passed" and can stay. "the rest if you want to continue and give it another shot tomorrow, please tell me"

haha. basically more than half didn make the cut la. i might have stayed on to give it another go but i already had plans on friday. initially i mentioned to my supervisor already la and she said ok. but then if i were to say "i wanna stay but tomorrow i cannot do" then its very weird ah. haha. so... just go along with the rest la.

lol. all in all i think it was a good experience. get to see things from different point of view. its almost like a blown-up version of flag day. haha. just that for this if you choose to be totally honest with the people you meet, you end up with crappy results like mine.

well, at least now i've tried some other form of work other than admin. lol.

hah. no didn go jamming today. went on wednesday. hehe. it was quite fun. got drummer got bassist got 3 guitarist. whats more its free. haha. + bob has his irritatingly funny "chun li theme", "ken theme" solos... damm irritating. just cuts through all the beat and groove and suddenly you hear very familiar tune you use to hear on your gameboy(no color)... -_-

wow. i almost forgot today is feb 29. haha. but =s nth special to me la. haha. that movie seem bout feb 29 with li lin in it seems watchable... but news said it had potiential but didn turn out well. =s doubt my frens will watch that anyways.
